Bishops Wood Activity Centre

21st Jun 2019

Last week Nursery went on an exciting trip to Bishops Wood Activity Centre. Before we left nursery we used the internet to find out how to get to Bishops Wood, what the weather was going to be like and what Bishop Wood looked like. We also talked about how we were going to keep ourselves safe on our trip.  The children knew that they needed to follow instructions from an adult, sit down on the coach with their seat belts on and stay with their group whilst at the centre.

Once we arrived at the centre the children listened to the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ being acted out with puppets and some children were chosen to join in.  Next, we went into the woods where the children made each of the three little pigs’ houses.  The children were told how to safely transport the materials to make their houses and all children managed this.  The children enjoyed exploring the materials and experimenting with them!

After a picnic lunch the children went back into the woods where they used props and books from traditional tails to make clay gingerbread people, used their hands and materials to make a troll bridge and mud in the mud kitchen to make porridge for the three bears.

We all had a wonderful time and the children were very tired and happy on the way back to nursery!

P.s We would like to say a big thank you to all our helpers - well done!
