Maths in Maple

This week, we have been focusing on perfecting our addition and subtraction, using number lines and one hundred squares. 

We have been starting each lesson by remembering everything we know about addition and subtraction - like subtraction makes the numbers smaller, and we do backwards jumps on our number lines, and addition makes the numbers bigger, and we do forward jumps on our number lines, and to always find our starting number at the beginning of a number sentence.
We also show what the add, take away and equals signs look like with our arms.

We have been looking at missing number problems and word problems, and figuring out different strategies to help us solve them. Take a look at how we did!
