This week in Year One, we have started a new story called Once Upon A Dragon's Fire. It is about a cold town who blame a local dragon for the bad weather and say unkind things about the dragon. Two children named Freya and Sylas go and meet the dragon, and find that he is cold and lonely in a dark cave. The children read to the dragon to make him feel better, and the dragon becomes warm inside and breathes fire for the first time. They then fly to the town and save it from a terrible storm.
We have been learning all about noun phrases this week and have been practicing using them in our writing. We compared how the dragon was at the start of the story to how he was at the end.
