In Maple Class we are working hard to develop our reading skills. Mrs Blaber and I love listening to your child read. We are noticing a big improvement in fluency and the use of phonic skills to blend unfamiliar words. In Maple Class when we read at home we get a punch on our punch card. When we get to ten we can go in the sparkly box for a prize. We would love it if every child could get to read at home to finish their punch card. There are many opportunities to read during the school day and share stories. We are working on our comprehension skills to think about the text we are reading. Our class book corner has lots of different types of books to share such as fiction and non-fiction and these are changed frequently so we are always excited to share new and interesting texts. We especially love books on animals and enjoy sharing facts and information that we learn. This demonstrates us living life in all its fullness.
