This week nursery has really enjoyed learning about represent numbers i.e. 1 bear equals 1 mark, number 1, one circle etc…
The children were shown that we can use fingers, pictures and actions such as claps to represent an amount but, we can also draw marks, whether it is a line or a circle.
In the nursery environment the children then had a go at independently counting objects (bears) with a clipboard, paper and pencil, making a mark each time they saw a bear.
They had lots of fun finding the bears hidden around the classroom.
