Beech Class are making a difference!

27th Nov 2025

Last week, living life in all its fullness, Beech Class began reading Stella and the Seagull by Georgina Stevens. We learned that Stella isn't allowed pets but has a regular little visitor... a seagull! The seagull brings Stella a present from the beach- a shell. But, after a while, she begins to bring bottle tops, balloons and wrappers. One day, the seagull doesn't appear at all so Stella and Granny Maggie go searching for her. They eventually find her but she is poorly and has to be rushed to the vet. The vet discovers that the seagull is poorly because she has swallowed some litter!
Beech Class were so shocked by this, that we began thinking about the wild birds who live around us. We discovered litter in our local streets and began to worry that our wild birds might get poorly too. So, we decided to make a difference and write letters to a local shop to see if they could help us...
