This week Cedar have being living 'Life in all its Fullness' by celebrating Black History Month. We learned about a famous artist called Alma Thomas who became an artist when she was 67 years old (after being a teacher for all of her life). We looked at a famous picture called 'Watusi (Hard Edge) and the children then created their own versions.
We also listened to a lovely story called 'The Colours of Us' which celebrates all of the different skin tones and shades of brown our skin can be. We celebrated the diversity within our class and then created our own self portraits, We painted our skin tone and then used natural objects for our features.
