Botanical Gardens Trip with Year Two

12th Mar 2020

On Wednesday, Year Two had a super time exploring Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston.

Amanda taught us more about the animals and plants that can be found in rainforests all around the world and explained how we use some of the plants in our every day lives!

Have a look at our photos below to see some of the magnificent creatures that live in the rainforests. We met Kevin the giant African snail, stick insects, Toffee the snake, some beetles and if we were feeling brave enough we could hold and feel them too!

We spotted the famous Kapok Tree in the hot houses, along with the ginormous banana plants and the scrumptious cocoa plants!

As we were making our way to the bird house, we were greeted by the majestic peacocks. We saw two of them flying into the trees!

We had a great time playing with the Macaws. They were very intelligent and knew how to say 'hello' and 'bye bye' to us.

We had a wonderful day and have learnt lots about how animal and plant species have adapted to life in the rainforest.
