We listened to a story about how the animals all argued because they couldn’t decide which animal should have the New Year named after them. The Jade Emperor made all of the animals have a race to help them to decide. We acted out the story and had a race; using straws to blow the animals across the great river in the school hall! In the story the rat won the race by jumping onto the Ox’s back. Our race was won by the dog which is lucky because this year is the year of the dog!
