The children have been learning about and celebrating the Chinese New Year. We decorated our classroom with lanterns and banners with Chinese writing on to represent the animals that represent each year. We made model dragons using bricks and used our creative art skills to make paper dragon puppets. We turned our home corner into a household celebrating the new year by cleaning and decorating it and by preparing special meals to share. We read and acted out the story of the animal race and read lots of information about how people all over the world celebrate this special occasion.
