In Nursery we introduce children to writing through a variety of different activities and media. The children need to develop their muscles and coordination to become good writers. We have a dough disco session twice a week where the children use play dough to develop and strengthen the muscles in their hands and arms. We use sand, water and paint as a way for children to experiment with making marks that have meaning to them and also practice different movements to create specific line patterns. The children also practise writing by writing over printed letters and then having a go independently. We are so proud of our children as they are doing really well with early writing.
