We have been living 'Life in All it's Fullness' in Evergreen class during Black History month. We have been sharing some wonderful books including Coming to England by Floella Benjamin which tells the story of the journey both her and her family made to England. It helped to encourage us to never give up on our dreams as anything is possible.
We have also been inspired to become poets due to the inspiration from Benjamin Zepaniah. A Birmingham born poet who has encouraged us to both write and perform our poetry. His story captured our imaginations and the whole of Evergreen class became poets for the day. His poetry taught us to love words and if we continue to work at things we find difficult we can achieve anything. We have even sent some of our poetry for him to read!
During our Curriculum lessons we have been learning about Nelson Mandela and have been researching in groups to find information about him to teach to the rest of the class! We have been wonderful projecting our voices and helping each other to learn all about him.
