On Wednesday we were delighted to meet Karen Argent, director of the Letterpress Project when she visited Year Two with her amazing collection of Pirate books.
Karen shared her love of reading and the children were able to look at and discuss both fiction and non-fiction texts.
We compared the illustrations of different pirates and gave reasons for why we liked our favourite one.
Karen ended the session by sharing a book called ‘Pirates in Classroom 3’ which was actually illustrated by Ben Whitehouse, a former student of Karen. The story was such fun and we enjoyed listening to Karen bring it to life!
