Festival of Light

4th Nov 2022

This week in Nursery we have had lots of fun learning about Diwali. This wonderful five-day festival of Lights is celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. The festival originated in India and it marks the beginning of the new year, new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.

The children have enjoyed using their expressive art and design skills to colour rangoli and mehndi patterns and used chalk to make firworks.

Showing life in all its fullness, the children listened to some Diwali music and had a go at practicing and performing some Diwali dance moves. They were fabulous and had such a wonderful time laughing and moving to the beat.

Whether you celebrate Diwali or not I hope you will agree that the beauty of its customs and traditions can be appreciated by everyone, especially our nursery children!
