It was lovely seeing all the children back in school after having a week off. This week, in Willow class, we have been learning all about what make us unique, understanding that we are all different and that is okay to be different as this is what makes us special. This also links into the special celebration of black history month. The children enjoyed listening to a story called 'Look up' which is about Mae Jemison the first African-American woman who went into space. What an amazing lady she was!
This week, the children have also begun to learn their sounds in phonics. Today a newsletter has come home with the sounds they have learnt this week. I am very proud at how well they have done.
We also ended the week with some fun firework dancing with ribbons. The children have definitely been living life in all its fullness this week!
