Frogs!
As part of our learning for Understanding the World, we are continuing with developing our knowledge in 'The Natural World'. The Early Learning Goal states, children in Reception should 'explore the natural world around them, making observations and drawing pictures of animals and plants'.
This week in Cedar Class the children have been reading 'Tad'. Tad is a story about a tadpole growing up. Tad is frightened about the Big Blub that lurks in the dark waters. She worries about where all her other tadpole family are going and what happens to them. Tad is a late bloomer and takes a long time to grow into a frog. The story covers the life cycle of the frog in small steps. The children have used this story and factual videos to develop their knowledge of frogs. To embed their learning, they have made observations and attempted to create/draw the life cycle of a frog.
