Willow class have been having great fun with our marble runs, shapes and puzzles. Working together they have been building towers, transformers, with the Lego, and diggers with the large construction. With the puzzles the children worked together to problem solve and manipulate the pieces so they fit together correctly.
We set them a challenge with the geometric shapes. First we created a square, triangle and rectangle with masking tape on the table. The children's challenge was to use the shapes to fill these in without leaving any gaps. They really persevered, trying different shapes of different sizes and turning them round trying to fill the taped shapes.
Some amazing math's going on, well done.
