Reading is a key focus at Holly Hill and we strive to make sure that all children learn to become confident readers. We read daily in a variety of ways including, through shared big book reading, small group reading, 1:1 reading and story times. We ensure children get the opportunity to read across the curriculum. We have spent a lot of time this term reading to find out information as well as reading stories and poems. We have spent time in both the school library and Frankley library looking at a range of books and sharing stories. Not only is reading helping us learn new facts but it is also giving us great ideas for our writing and helping us develop our vocabulary.
