The children in Cedar Class have been busy practising their names and applying their phonic knowledge in the provision. They have tried hard with their letter formation and with segmenting words. The children are beginning to write initial sounds in words.

The children talked about their hobbies and talents during RE this week after being introduced to Ellie Simmonds, the Paralympian Swimmer. They made medals of all different designs, shapes and sizes as they practised their pencil control and cutting skills.

The children also enjoyed finding out if the gingerbread man could swim! They predicted how long he would float for before he sank. It’s safe to say he couldn’t swim and became all soggy so we couldn’t eat him either. We decided to leave the swimming to Ellie!
