Today we had a special visitor take our assembly. Jane Platt, who is the vicar at St Leonard’s church, came and taught us about forgiveness. She told a story about how Jesus told Peter how he had to learn to forgive. Jesus told a story about a king who forgave a man who owed him some money. The man left the king and saw a another man who owed the first man some money! The new man said I’m very sorry and asked for forgiveness. The first man was not happy and threw the second man in jail! The king heard about this and was very angry. He got the first man to come and see him and he explained that he was very cross. The king had forgiven him, but he Could not do the same, so the king put that man in jail. Jesus told Peter that God is like the king and he wants to forgive us, but we must forgive others who upset us.
