Lunar New Year expressive arts

3rd Feb 2022

Lunar New Year is an important festival that is celebrated in many countries. The date of the Lunar New Year changes each year because it follows a very old calendar that is linked to the phases of the Moon. The children in Nursery have been learning how Lunar New Year is celebrated in lots of different ways this week including illustrations and texts that were just right for young children. We have also had fun finding out about special foods, tasting prawn crackers, making lantern decorations, a Nursery dragon and watching videos of traditional dances.

Finally, Nursery had a go at making their very own dragon and lion dance, listening to the beat and copying the movements!

Superstars as always!
