Maple class are at magnificent mathematicians

25th Jan 2024

This week we have been living 'Life in all it's Fullness' by being magnificent mathematicians. We have been looking at comparing and ordering numbers. We have loved learning all about the symbols for more than and less than. We thought it was really funny when we turned the symbols into crocodiles and said that the crocodile will always eat the biggest number.

We started today's session by putting three random numbers in order from the largest to the smallest. Then we played a carousel of four games to help us to consolidate all of this week's learning.

Game 1 - finding the missing numbers on a number line.

Game 2 - rolling a dice with the more than, less than and equal symbols and putting number cards in the correct place.

Game 3 - finding the correct picture that represented a given number and matching it to the numeral.

Game 4 - ordering numbers and estimating where to put the number on a number line.

This was so much fun.
