The children have really enjoyed going on a number journey. They started at 1 and this week they have focused on number 9. The children have been practising their 1:1 counting, representing each number in different ways, number formation, learning what one more of a number is and exploring how we can make each number. For example, this week the children used the Numicon to explore number 9 they found that 5 and 4 make 9 and so does 8 and 1. They enjoyed using the large Numicon on the floor and created lots of numbers and even worked together as team to order the numbers from 1-10.
