Holly Hill Church School, Birmingham

Our church school family

11th Oct 2019

This week in Willow class we have been talking about our family, class and school.

We discussed what our class was called our school name and how we are a church school.

We then sat in a circle and looked at our school logo on our jumpers and cardigans to show that we belong to Holly Hill.  Next, I showed the children some objects that show we are a church school – school name, cross on top of school, bible, our prayer and our Christian values.

Finally, we talked about what we do as a church school. We had a lovely discussion about supporting each other, being kind, hearing stories and following our values. In exploring time Willow decorated crosses and doves for our prayer corner.

Later on in the week we discussed our school assemblies as being a time to be together. The children were reminded about our discussion of being a church school and a family and we took a walk around school looking for signs that we are a church school. The children were really good at spotting our crosses, bibles and candles.
