We have been developing our reading skills this week in Cedar class. The children have been trying hard to identify initial sounds when playing games. They have also been using the flash cards to build words and practise segmenting and blending. Some children have been applying their phonic knowledge to help them read simple words. They segmented the words by saying the sound each letter makes and then blended the sounds together to make a word. They are making good progress. We are very proud of them.
