The children are really enjoying using our new phonics scheme. They love joining in with the rhymes and learning about each of the characters. Their current favourite is Nonsense Nan because she tries to trick them with nonsense words. This week we have focused on the sounds ‘oo’ in zoo, ‘oo’ in book, ‘ar’ in farm and ‘or’ in corn. The children are excited to find out what will be in the Phonics Tv each day and they have some great ideas when guessing. Please continue to read at home, as it really helps them retain the sounds they learn in school and live life in all its fullness.
We also have our tricky word wall that helps us with words we cannot decode. They love finding their friends on the wall to help them when they are stuck. Check out our new phonics display below!
