Maple Class have been learning all about telling the time to o’clock and half past this week.
We started by making our own paper plate clocks to help us during the rest of the week.
Then we learned that when the minute hand (big hand) points to the 12 the time is showing o’clock. We did some practising on the clocks we made and then we applied our learning into our books.
After that we learned that when the minute hand (big hand) points to the 6 the clock is showing half past the hour. We had to practise moving clockwise and anti-clockwise so we knew which way the hands on a clock move too. Then we applied this learning into our books too.
As a challenge on the last day of learning about time Mrs Thurman challenged us with a mixture of o’clock and half past questions but we were far to clever for her and we did brilliantly!
