Trip to Cadbury World

18th Apr 2024

Wow what a wonderful trip Year One had to Cadbury World this week. I'm sure you will see throughout the pictures that the children really have been 'Living Life in all it's Fullness.'

Our trip has helped us learn so much more about the Cadbury Brothers and how they set up the factory and the Bournville village for their workers.

We liked looking at the artefacts and shop windows in Bull street. Then it was time to watch John Cadbury talk about how the chocolate was made this was where the seats wobbled and we all thought this was really funny. Next, we watched a lady show us how to temper the chocolate so it would cool down and be ready to use. We then got to try some delicious chocolate and we could choose two toppings to go on the top. Then, it was time to go on the ride, the teachers were not allowed to take pictures in this as it was 'top secret' but we had to help Freddo collect ingredients and we were rewarded with a bar of chocolate for helping him. After a busy morning it was time for a well deserved rest and lunch. In the afternoon we had a look at the Bournville museum and a model of the village, there were some old artefacts to look at as well. The next bit of the trip was really exciting, we got to practise writing our names in chocolate and we even had a go at tempering the chocolate ourselves just like the lady showed us in the morning. We then had a little bit of a disappointment that the 4D cinema was broken and unfortunately they could not fix it before we left. We ended our day letting off some energy by having a good climb in the Aztec jungle play park.

We had a wonderful time and some of us were so tired we even had a nap on the coach on the way home.
