Year one were lucky enough to go on a trip to a beautiful golden Buddhist pagoda and St John’s church.
In the Pagoda we learned all about how Buddhist temples are made and how Buddhists spend their time meditating. We got to hit the gong and listened carefully to the reverberations. We also explored the grounds and loved seeing the koi fish!
Then we went back to church, where we enjoyed some singing and talked about different types of prayer. We learned that prayers can be about showing love, giving thanks, saying sorry or asking for something.
Later we listened to some bible stories and how they inspired some of the stain glass windows. We also got to act in them!
Finally we cut and made beautiful prayer hands, which will be added to our prayer areas in school.
We had a wonderful day and showed all our school values beautifully as we lived life in all its fullness!
