Understanding the world in Willow class
Over the last week, Willow class have been exploring the differences between the polar regions and where we live. The children loved exploring what the Antarctic and Arctic look like and what animals can be found there. They were amazed to learn that polar bears and penguins do not live in the same place! We then compared the icy polar regions with Frankley, looking at the environment and the animals that live here. Some of the children were pleased we didn't have the same animals living here, some were sad however as they would love to meet a penguin!!
Our big book this week was 'Big Blue Whale'. This is a non-fiction book providing lots of cool facts about whales. The children asked some amazing questions and we loved pacing out what 30m looked like in real life! Well done Willow class, you really have been living life in all its fullness.
