We are amazing!

16th Nov 2023

In Willow class we love to celebrate our differences as a way of living life in all its fullness. We are all unique in our own way and that is what makes us special! The children enjoyed listening to the story spreading my wings by Nadiya Hussain. It is a story about a little boy who is worried that he may be different than the other children in his class but he soon realises this is what makes him special. We also listened to the story, 'My Hair,' by Hannah Lee and talked about what our hair looks like and how everyone’s hair is different and amazing.  To celebrate Black History month the children also read the story 'Look Up,' learning about the first Black woman, Mae Carol Jemison, who went into space. Children shared their thoughts and ideas during circle time and story times this week and demonstrated good listening skills showing the value of respect to everyone.
