In Nursery we are always encouraging the children to pick up a book. Last week we spent some time sitting together and using our phonics knowledge to help us read. Reading is very important, we have been developing a love of reading in the children and they are starting to enjoy looking at the books independently. The children have really enjoyed looking at the pictures and being reading detectives to predict what they think the book will be about. They have then brought the books to life by using their imagination to act out the book with their friends. Our current favourite book is 'Cat in the Hat' as it has lots of rhymes!
