Welcome back to the Summer term

11th Apr 2024

Welcome back to the new Summer term, the children have settled back in well and we are ready for an exciting term ahead.

This week in Maths we have been looking at weight and capacity, we have had fun exploring the weighing scales to decide which object was lighter or heavier. We have also looked at how much water containers can hold and explored the new vocabulary of capacity and volume.

In English we have been focusing on some non fiction working looking at different facts. We found out which animals can lay eggs and created a fact file. Then we looked at a picture of some coloured eggs and predicted what we thought may be inside. We found out it was actually a dragon and used some fabulous adjectives to describe the dragon

In Science we have continued looking at plants we can eat, we sorted pictures into fruits and vegetables. Did you know that a pea is actually a fruit? The pod is the fruit and the peas are the seed. We also went on a Spring walk and worked with a partner from Fir class and looked at the different flowers, plants and trees.

During topic we have started to look at our new Courageous Advocate John Cadbury. We loved learning all about the good that he did for the workers in the factory. We are super excited for our trip next week to find out more about the factory. Please remember a small empty rucksack and a light raincoat.

We really have been living 'Life in all it's Fullness' this week.
