Nursery have made a wonderful start to 2023, embracing 'Life in all its fullness'. It has been lovely meeting all of the children and parents and thank you to all of the Holly Hill community for making me feel so welcome.
The children have enjoyed reading and joining in with the classic children's book, 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt.' They have taken part in lots of activities including re-enacting the story, sequencing the events, choosing items they could take on a Bear Hunt and painting and collaging pictures of the places in the story. They have also been investigating different bears. The bears they collected were ordered by size and the children have been doing lots of counting activities involving bears.
We have discussed the Christmas holidays in our 'Celebrations' RE unit. Each child had lots to say about the exciting things that happened during the Christmas break in their house. This week we have discussed birthdays and what they can remember about their birthdays so far as well as special birthdays for the people in their family.
