This week has been very exciting!
We introduced our new text - The Jolly Postman.
We started by looking at the front cover, describing what we could see and talking about the role of the author and illustrator.
Next, we used what we could see to predict what we thought might happen in the text. We thought about the role of a postperson and what they deliver. We also thought about alternative words for ‘Jolly’. We came up with some amazing choices including joyful and jubilant.

We have also been working hard on our phase 3 phoneme recognition, building words using known sounds and recognising tricky words.
I am very proud of all of the children’s efforts this week. You have blown my socks off! Keep up the fantastic work Fir Class.
