Who was Rosa Parks?

4th Nov 2022

Our Courageous advocate this half term is Rosa Parks. The children in Evergreen were surprised to learn about how some people were treated at the time Rosa Parks lived. We had a great discussion about how she and others were treated and what this might look and feel like.

The children reflected on our values, in particular tolerance and what that means and looks like. The children were asked to consider what they would like to learn during this topic and they had some interesting thoughts, ideas and questions. The children demonstrated life in all its fullness with their insightful questions, such as, why were black people not allowed to mix with white people? The children are eager to learn more about how courageous Rosa Parks was.
