Cedar class have been practising their writing skills in order to live life in all its fullness. The children started Reception practising their mark making skills. They now understand that the marks they make have meaning and represent something and they are able to talk about what that meaning is. Most children in our class can now independently write all the letters in their name in the correct order. The children are now remembering to use a tripod grip, which will help them form their letters more accurately. We have now progressed to being able to recognise/form capital and lowercases letters in order to help us write cvc words. All the children have improved in their writing skills from when they started. They are taking pride and consideration when writing, which is evident in their writing books.
