Due to the warm weather and hot temperatures in school in the afternoon we will close to ALL pupils at 1pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Children are able to wear their PE kit everyday this week.
This week, we have been 'Living Life in all it's Fullness' by learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We started out by first finding out what non-fiction meant - information. We read through some non-fiction writing and discovered the meaning of some new vocabulary, such as emerges, chrysalis, metamorphosis and spiracles. Then, we looked at pictures of different stages of the life cycle and spoke with our talk partner about what was happening. Next, we ordered pictures of the life cycle and read some non-fiction sentences and matched them to the correct picture. Finally, we wrote our own sentences to describe what was happening at each stage of the life cycle.
