Showing life in all its fullness today we have been celebrating World Book Day! The first World Book Day in the UK and Ireland took place in 1997 to encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading. The incentive behind this day is to promote reading for pleasure which ties in with our school mission. It offers every child the opportunity to have a book of their own. Today is a special day because reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success. It has more impact than family circumstances, parents’ educational background or income. We want to see all children have a life-long habit of reading for pleasure which will improve their life chances. Check out their amazing costumes below!
