Welcome to Spring 2! Our theme this term is 'We are Superheroes'. The children have been busy living 'Life in all its Fullness' through lots of different writing activities. Our English lessons this term will focus around the Supertato series. We have been exposing the children to a range of different writing styles including:
- Lists
- Captions
- Posters
- Instructions
The variety of styles will enable the children to develop a love for writing by fostering independent writing skills. Writing in the early years is important as it supports language development, cognitive skills, and fine motor abilities. We have been encouraging the children to express themselves creatively and enhance their communication skills. Despite being at the early stage of writing, we can see a huge improvement in the children's thinking, problem-solving, and emotional expression. The Supertato books will build on their skills by creating opportunities to write in a fun and engaging way.
