Learning Mentor – Grade 3, 32.5, Term Time only

Salary Range: Grade 3 Point 9-22

The role:

As the Learning Mentor you will play a pivotal role in supporting and guiding our students towards achieving their full potential. Your responsibilities will encompass leading and improving attendance, providing mentoring support to children, supporting parents and assisting with behaviour management. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and within the pathfinder model, you will contribute to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment that fosters academic progress and personal development.

We are looking for someone to join us who:

  • Demonstrates full commitment to our 12 Christian Values
  • Has experience of providing high quality one to one and group pastoral support and interventions
  • Can collaborate with teachers and SLT to devise and implement target interventions
  • Holds a current DSL certificate or is committed to obtaining this
  • Has a firm knowledge of safeguarding and the various agencies that can support children and families
  • Is up to date in current research for improving attendance
  • Is able to implement strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence
  • Is able to build strong relationships with student, parents and carers to provide the best possible support to enable them to flourish
  • Can monitor and track attendance data, ensuring accurate records are maintained and reported to
  • Has proven organisational skills and can be responsible for their own work patterns
  • Demonstrates highly effective communication, interpersonal skills and is computer literate
  • Is a team player with a great sense of humour
