A special visitor to Beech Class...

14th Nov 2024
Today we have a special visit from Geraldine who works for the Blue Cross. She came into Year 2 to teach the children all about the basic needs that all animals must have to survive which are company, behaviour, food and water, environment and protection.

She told us some lovely stories of animals that she had cared for and gave us some tips on how the look after our pets. We loved the game 'Can dogs eat....?' where we had to jump up if we thought the dog could not eat the food. We all knew that chocolate was bad for dogs, but we were shocked to find out that they they can't eat grapes or onions either.

We then asked Geraldine some questions that we have thought of ourselves. Some examples were:
* Why was it called 'The Blue Cross'?
* How do you care for the animals?
* Which animals do you care for?
* How long have you worked at the Blue Cross?

Please enjoy some photos of our visit.
