Art in Evergreen
This half term in Evergreen class, we have been 'Living Life In All It's Fullness' learning about the artist Henri Rousseau. We have been using our oracy skills to share our thought about his work during a 'visit' to Evergreen's art gallery. We have thought about how different colours make us feel and have even been exploring colour mixing, discovering how we create different shades of colours. For the next few weeks, we will be working in groups to create our own versions of some of Henri Rousseau's art. We are learning that art is a very personal activity which can help us to feel calm and relaxed. At first some children were worried about their work but after lots of discussions the children in Evergreen class have changed their mindset and are now feeling relaxed and excited about what they will produce. We have even had some beautiful creations made at home and brought into school to share and admire in class. Well done!
