Aspirational Ada Lovelace

Over the last half term, we have been learning about Ada Lovelace. She was born in 1815 and unusually for that time, her mother encouraged her to study Maths and Science. Her friend, Charles Babbage invented the Difference Engine (a machine that could solve mathematical calculations). Ada wrote an article about Charles' invention but added her own ideas to the design to improve it. Because of this, she is thought to be the world's first computer programmer!
