This week in Evergreen class we have been 'Living Life In All Its Fullness' learning about Chinese New Year. We have shared the story of The Great Race by Christopher Corr which explained how the Chinese zodiac was created. We then learned all about the traditions for preparing for new year and how it is celebrated. We all tasted foods which would be eaten during the celebrations and discovered the significance of them for example long noodles represent a long and healthy life. We also made Chinese drums and a dragon so we took part in a dragon dance in the playground. Finally we have completed our learning by writing a fact file of all the information we have discovered.
