Exploration in Evergreen!

15th Jan 2026
This week in Evergreen class we have began learning about our new courageous advocate Greta Thunberg. We began by predicting why she is significant and then began scientists exploring the impact of pollution on our world. We explored air, noise, water and soil pollution. We carried out an experiment to observe over time to examine the impact of acid rain on plants. We explored the impact of oil pollution on birds feathers and discussed the impact this will have on the birds themselves. We explored the impact of global warming on the ice caps and the animal populations which live there. We made bird feeders to take home to feed the local wildlife during the winter months. Finally we thought about sea turtles and played a game where we discussed the impact against nature verses man made issues on their survival.
