Good friends are…
20th Mar 2025
This week, the children have been focusing on friendship as part of their My Happy Module. They have looked at the ingredients to what makes a good friend. They have worked together and decided that a good friend listens, shares, uses kind words/hands and consoles them if they are upset. Cedar Class have created a poem that reminds them of what a good friend is.
The statutory framework for the EYFS and the reading framework ‘teaching the foundations of literacy’ explicitly mention poetry and the importance of speaking and learning poems in the early years. We aim to provide opportunities for children to hear/recite poetry in Reception. This is so the children have access to exploring different forms of writing and developing their confidence in performance.
