Harvest in Willow Class
We began learning about the Harvest Festival by finding out that it happens in Autumn. We learnt about the seasons and the changes the plants and animals face during this time. We had so much fun going on an Autumn Hunt, where we checked off autumnal items from our list once we had found them! We have lived life in all its fullness by creating Harvest pictures using grains and oats and drove tractors in the muddy farm!
We then talked where food comes from and how farmers gather the crops at Harvest time. We learnt that Harvest is a time where churches, groups and charities gather food to help those in need.
We thought about how we can help others by 'doing all the good we can,' and have brought in lots of jars, tins and packets of food. We gathered the donations from all the classes and during Worship learnt about the Food Bank at New Starts which is where we will be taking the food soon so they can give it to people in our community who need it.
