Building a love for maths begins with building an understanding of numbers. This term the children have been on a number journey in order to live life in all its fullness. They have since become masters of the numbers 1 to 8.
In such a short time the children have looked at; the composition of a number, how to subitise, finding one more/less and matching numeral to quantity. We are supporting the children to develop a good number sense through enjoying playing with and exploring numbers. Making them masters with their number knowledge will later help their reasoning and problem-solving skills too.
