Oracy in Willow Class
Oracy means the ability to be able to express yourself confidently and fluently with others. In reception we have lots of opportunities for the children to practise their oracy skills -we include it in every lesson we do! This week in English the children wrote about ‘the bog baby’ which is their new story focus. They used sentence starters to help them describe what he looks like.
Another fun thing Willow class love to do is create their own stories. This helps to develop their oracy and creativity. The children today enjoyed creating helicopter stories. This is where they say their own story as a teacher writes it down for them allowing them to be their own author! Later on the children performed their stories in front of the class. Have a look at the children living life in all its fulness!
